The Fundacion Exito Diaspora Drive forFoundation Exito Canada

A. Introduction:

The Foundation Exito Canada Diaspora Mandate is the first expression of the FundELG Africa Diaspora Drive, a component of #TheGreenCampaign under the “National Economic Governance and Advancement Programme [NEGAP]”; targeted at evolving a Nigeria that believes in Nigerians built for Nigerians by a global Community of Nigerians who believe in Nigeria. The process would involve fostering research, debate and actions into how Nigerians in the Diaspora, the private sector, global markets and institutions can better work together to save the economic, governance and developmental needs of the Nigerian people.

Nigerians in the Diaspora need to be aware of their power and attitude in changing our national and global narrative so they can take back leadership from the corrupt and political elite. But to do this successfully and not repeat the mistakes of the last 60+ years, there needs to be a strategic mind re-engineering and globally integrated nationhood process engaged with precision and clarity that will engender true Economic Governance and Advancement from Nigerians around the world.

B. The 4 Pronged Goals of our Diaspora Drive are:

  • Supporting Nigerians in Diaspora and helping them stabilize and make progress;
  • Getting Nigerians in Diaspora to believe in Nigeria, to do whatever it would take to make Nigeria work and to do the right thing to promote a positive image of Nigerian globally;
  • Pushing Policies with respect to medical and healthcare service/support abroad; and
  • Pushing Policies with respect to Education and Governance infrastructure.

C. The Diaspora Drive… NEGAP Bridge:

“You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for his own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.”

Marie Curie [November 7, 1867 – July 4, 1934] [French-Polish Physicist & First Female Nobel Laureate]

The idea behind the “NEGAP” is to get the next generation of Nigerian Leaders to take responsibility for leadership so they can change it. We have complained enough and blamed the government of the day, the corrupt elite, politicians, their cronies and scions enough too; and as long as we blame someone else for our problem, we lose – rob ourselves – of the power to change the situation.

First key to lasting change is to “Change the Mind” (A Mind – Manner – Matter to Action Revolution). If we can change how we think, then can we commit to MASTERY – the mastery of our words and actions particularly in acquiring the information to follow-through by upgrading our skills, behaviours, and character. If we do what other developed nations have done, we will get the results they did. You change your thoughts, and you change your life, your country and your world.

The second key is to promote and engineer a “Regional, National and Global Integration and Network of Citizens” among the next generation of leaders.. All we need as a people is to become one! Have one language of “the promotion of our collective National Economic Governance and Advancement” regardless of whose ox is gored. Think, talk and move as one – Unity. To achieve this, we must understand that the political and corrupt elite enhance and compound simple differences based on their own selfish vested interests; but we must ignore this narrative and realise that though many, we are one; then wield the might of our unity as a nation, regardless of location on the globe. Take a stand as one to rebuild our land, defend what is ours as a people with one voice and one heart; with the goal to evolve a nation where freedom reigns, where truth prevails, a land where there is hope for everyone and to uphold the honour of our land for generations to come.

Now, we may succeed in changing Nigeria for the better, and we may not; we may succeed in changing the Nigerian narrative and culture of corruption, and we may not, still. But one thing is certain; we would definitely have sparked the idea that a new tomorrow is possible.
